if only i wasnt so skilled in procrastinating!! well yesterday i stopped procrastinating and decided to go to the state library for some much needed study. it was quite successful actually. i understand the principle of relativity, thanks to some really really good books i found. theres this one book, that totally cracked me up, its called time: a travellers guide, by Cliff Pickover. It's so good. I want to buy it, but i dont think its in stock. anyhow, miranda was so troublesome yesterday with her photocopying. the cricket last night was fantastic. well the game i guess, wasnt too thrilling, but ricky ponting and matthew hayden did a superb job batting. i'm going again to the state library, this time i think i'll bring the laptop so i can write faster, but i'm only going because i have to drop some clothes off for my sister.

shit, i think yesterday i made the mistake of writing 2002 on the date for a cheque instead of 2003... i think, though, the cheque can still be cashed so that's ok. I'm reading books again- i borrowed gone with the wind again because it's a nice long book to read, i also borrowed a book by gabrielle lord and another by leon uris. so i have a lot to read but i'm still killing time online and procratinating about english!

i don't know if i should go to wonderland because my mum doesn't want me to go. and i am still a little sick... well we shall see

Bee Gee's legend Maurice Gibb died i think yesterday, which spurred me to download some of their songs. There's this really really nice song by the bee gees called words. I recommend you all download it- its so sweet. Another funky song is Disco Inferno and that song that Halina used to play all the time in history (well i did too) that went where is the sun? They reckon it's by the beegees but i'm yet to discover what it's called.

Today, i just got this memory of a show on ages ago called McGyver, with richard dean anderson in it. I remember that it was so neat and stuff, but then it got axed or something or other, but channel seven put replays on at 4a.m. Anyhow, that was just a thought- he was so inventive and the McGyver movies were pretty good. Release them all on DVD dammit!!! Do the same with Get Smart and i'll be very happy!

i was watching some of the replays of the aus vs srilanka game. Jayasuriya is a really good captain of his side. and he looks so cute- especially when he got a wicket, i can't remember whose, but he looked like a little kid! and the mulitharan guy he looks so evil, like jason gillespie, except shorter. It was a good game today- the england and australia game. I got home today from a study session at Hurstville library with olivia. I just bludged in front of the tele... i did so much more today than i would ever accomplish at home. however, i have a nice big red nose now- been sniffing away since the beach and i think i got worse since swimming yesterday...

I am SO bored!! I know i should be doing work but i'm not. Damn microsoft- they just have to ruin our lives by installing pinball and spider solitaire into their OS. I know i can uninstall it, but i don't want to.English is so gay. That website they gave us for BNW is such a load of BS. It's all just a pile of links and its not even a website- its just a webpage! anywhow, I really want to get my philosophy essay back and finally wrap everything up. I was just packing up all the year 11 stuff, and then there's all this Mind and Morality junk sitting in a manila folder waiting to be tied up. I want to go out somewhere, but I can't find anyone to go out with me!!! dammit why does everyone have to be nerds!

Thursday, 9th January, 2003

well i'm back to my online at 8a.m. days again. and who's online? no one of course. yesterday my sister finally came home- she hasn't been home since sunday. but she's been staying at the toaster building because its too much of a hassle to go home at midnight and leave again at 5. apparently she got picked up by the manager of the toaster building and he let her stay in one of the appartments. they're 'friends'... but yeah she got picked up by a politician's chief of staff as well awhile ago. it's so funny how she gets picked up... but at least they have style- unlike the dudes that try to pick miranda up LoL- the sim card guy was funny.

yesterday i got really frustrated at using my old computer- its an ancient pentium 100mHZ which is so damn slow compared to this one. my mum insisted because i'd been spending too much time either on this one or the other faster comp with have around. anyway, i went through the mp3 folder (we have 533 mp3s taking up more that 1gb of HD!!) and looked for some songs to download on this computer to burn onto a cd. i came up with a list of around 100 songs. there's this one song which i like the best out of the lot of them: it's called 'its all about the pentiums' by weird al yankovich. its a parody on a song by puff daddy and it has really cool lyrics- it disses all them computer nerds- read the lyrics, they're mad! other songs on my download list include: what if god were one of us-joan osborne; song for the dumped-ben folds five; short skirt, long jacket- cake; flaglepole sitta-harvey danger; sex and candy- marcy playground; and millions of burt bacharach and elvis costello songs! there is this one song i have which i know i can't find anywhere else- apple eyes by swoop. that is such a mad one hit wonder song!

went to the beach yesterday- Bondi again. but at least it was sunny. in the morning, the water looked quite rough so i opted out and instead went down to Icebergs to swim a couple of laps. Icebergs is a pretty nice pool, but its really deep- the shallow end is 1.7m and the deep end is around 3m. later on alina and olivia dragged me into the surf- it was actually ok, but i still prefer the calmness of the pool.

we seemed to eat a lot- those chips were so gross. however, i am sunburnt now, and have a massive bikini tan which does not look too good.

Saturday, 4th January 2003

yesterday was pretty much a day wasted. we started off with the intention of going to both the usyd and unsw open days. I went with the usual people from our 'beach' group and a couple of additions- some guys from tech who i didn't know. usyd was boring- i walked into the law talk at the end with mel and kathleen... they were asking questions so we missed it. when we came out, carl announced he wanted to go to the beach??!? i really did not understand why he wore boardies under his shorts... but after that, we all didn't feel like going to all the unis...so we went off to the main quad, grabbed all the pamphlets and went off to broadway to grab a bite to eat. During our conversation at broadway, shereen said that a bananna is a herb and i was thinking wtf?? but i looked it up in the encyclopedia- it seems to say a banana is a fruit so i dont know.... in the food court, i saw this really strange picture hung up. it reminded me of david bowie, but other people said it was one of the guys from kiss. i still think it's david bowie.

David Bowie

after that, i dragged everyone for a walk down to hyde park- i swear everyone was so damn lazy- mel and edith kept on complaining. well i guess it was a rather long walk with so many people walking so slowly!!! when we walked past UTS our asianess came out when we all grabbed some free drinks. nick and his mate (i forgot his name) looked like such idiots each with four cups in his hand LoL. i think it took us about an hour to get up to hyde park (should've only taken half an hour). we met up with qing and then we went window shopping. i am never ever going to take mel to kinokuniya again...

i am actually really happy maintenance on trains is going on. the bus to bexley north and train to city doesn't actually take that long. i think this illusion is created only because of the abundance of buses...

funny moment- when sarah was doing the air gutair and the air violin (she looked like she was doing the shimmy!

How good was steve waugh yesterday!! today i'm going to watch the cricket all day

Wednesday, first day of 2003!

Last night i was at kathleen's really gigantic house... it's so nice!!! we had a great night. the guys brought their guitars and jammed through the night- but i thought the songs they played sounded a little strange because they didn't have bass, so i dont know, the music just sounded strange. It was funny with some of kathleen's brother's friends- one of them was really really good at guitar! then there was this drunk bloke who was pretty stupid... we walked up to this hotel looking house up the street- it looked so spectacular. funny moment- when carl did cartwheels down the road and smashed into a car. everyone also brought their dogs and edith's frog. wing-sze's dog rex was so comfortable- he slept on my head; while nick's dog which wing-sze named the godfather, slept in my arms. pugsly, kathleens dog, didn't fit comfortably in the scheme of things.

after the party ended, and it was just the chicks left, we just sat there and talked. i only fell asleep for like 5mins, and then wing-sze woke me up to tell me to watch the sunrise. i've only had 5mins of sleep in the last 30 hours, so i'm absolutely exhausted

last night when we were counting down to midnight it felt like the hype of the next year was so overrated. we counted down and pulled the poppers. we had more poppers so we started the count down again- just shows how insignificant it is...but i still had a great time!!

Tuesday, New Years Eve, 2002

Glenn McGrath's going to miss the ashes in Sydney =((( What a shame, in his home ground as well... well i guess i'm not going then. I can't remember the last time i saw mcgrath bowl live.... cant remember how far he walks back in comparison to brett lee... i wanted to see mcgrathh bowl in the nsw england game but no... we got there too late=(

today i'm going to kathleen's place for new years eve, and sleeping over. i just won the fight with my sleeping bag, who refused to get into its little bag.... also, i just finished making potato salad. i have this feeling that i made too much. or maybe it just seemed like a lot. i never want to touch a potato again! (but they still taste nice) my mum actually wanted me to go and see the fireworks (she doesn't really like me sleeping over at people's houses) but i didn't know anyone who was going. perhaps next year.

my new year's resolution is to get away from my computer, beat Chantel in maths (watch out!! =p) and come first in eco (don't know if that's achievable)

happy new year folks

Monday 30th December, 2002

At last the ashes has gone into the fifth day!! at the moment the aussies are going alright at 3/71 with 36 more runs required. I was just reading about the Raelians. They have the most interesting conception of the beginning of human inhabitants on earth. Apparently an extra-terrestial appeared to this guy Rael in 1973. He was told that aliens created humans through cloning and that they created the prophets such as Mohammed and Jesus, to make a moral law or something like that. The alien told Rael to create an embassy (WTF?) to welcome the creators of humans back to earth. Seems like a story line directly out of the x-file or something. speaking of the x-files, the last couple of episodes i just do not understand.

today i actually finished medium spider solitaire!! i am so proud of myself!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR for wednesday

Saturday 28th December, 2002

It's so strange that my mum likes the Beatles, but she doesn't like queen, and she likes Bryan Adams, but not Bon Jovi. Queen are so good!!!!! Their song don't stop me now which is where i got the title of this page from, is so mad. I like it because its uplifting and so happy. Same with the Beatles All my Loving. I think i like that song because its just so singable. Other songs that are good by Queen are Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Bohemian Rhapsody (of course) and Flash. That is the strangest song. Apparently queen were the first rock band to get a film contract to do the song for the film Flash Gordon.

And so this is Christmas. What have you done? Another year over, and a new one just begun. Well, I have basically done nothing!! Today I was out in the city by myself until i was joined by Edith. Is there any etiquette on how long you should stand in a store if you are not planning to buy anything? Today I must've stood for at least an hour at HMV watching attack of the clones again... I felt a little bad, but I guess I wasn't the only one doing that. I didn't actually buy anything today except for a sushi roll and a train ticket, so it was a rather unsuccessful shopping trip. Believe it or not, there was not one single thing that really appealed to me. Whether this is a problem or not, I do not know. Walked alot around bookstores- went to Angus and Robertson,Borders, Dymocks and Kinokuniya. I must say that Kinokuniya has the strangest assortment of books, but was disappointing for edith because they did not sell guitar PICKING music (whatever that's supposed to mean).

working on a new design now, but don't get your hopes up.

Tuesday 24th December, 2002

Yesterday was spent at Cronulla of all beaches.... but it was still quite enjoyable. This week, carl was buried, and sculptured into a mermaid, complete with boobs and nipples hahahaha... Simone's little brother, Henderson (who is 6) helped out too... it is surprising to know how much little kids know, but shouldn't know. He was so hilarious- he had hair like a ufo lamp, and it was quite amusing watching the guys give him a piggy back. Nick's hair also resembled a UFO lamp too, so he could almost pass for Henderson's teenage father. I didn't swim because I was freezing cold, so instead I read Brave New World, which Justin looked up in my dictionary- he came up with some pathetic little definition which i cannot remember.... the aftermath of the beach- i still havent washed my hair, so it looks like i have really really bad dandruff. Justin has some photos here. I look like I'm giving dirties in all the photos, but I was just squinting because the wind and sun were irritating my eyes. and i am very proud of my nerdiness thank you very much.

me and sarah

on saturday night, I went to carols in the domain, with Shereen, Robyn, Edith, Miranda and bob. Miranda is such a control freak- at woolies OMG- "just shut up, shut up!" (she was trying to calculate how much we owed her). Great minds thought alike- i bumped into Lucy from my mind and morality class, who was buying food for carols as well. the laser show was so cool. it was a fun night, but robyn was dissapointed that she didn't get to see Sean, or see him at her band xmas party hahahha. too bad.

Wednesday, 18th December, 2002

The Word of today is exfoliation oh my gosh, i never ever want to hear that word again!! Today was spent at Bondi, bumming.... the surf was alright.... didnt really go in for that long anyway.... i was so suprised at how much some guys knew about taking care of their skin and hair, like that guy, i think his name is justin...OMG he is so gay... telling everyone to use Sunsilk shampoo??? and exfoliating Olivia. My ice cream didnt drip today!!! Interesting start to today- Miranda got picked up by another guy hahahhahaa.... and it was my fault because i wasnt on the train with her (apparently)... funny end- Alina looking for her burried thongs... now, i feel exhausted so i'm going to sleep!

Ronnie Irani is such a legend. Check him out!!

Ronnie Irani

well i guess i could blame failing my english reading/writing task on black friday couldn't I. but i know i shouldn't-- dont want to be in denial. its really strange..., because i didn't actually think i did that badly. when i got my test back, i was like oh my god! but then i realised greenaway didnt mark a whole page....(dumbass) but even after remarking, i still just failed....perhaps this is just MOTIVATION for me to study harder because i don't want to get a shit UAI or something... but it has definately woken me up. i now resolve to do a holiday study plan that i will keep....

and speaking of study plans.... philsophy essay still looms

Thursday, 12th December, 2002

philosophy still sucks... decided to change my essay and i'm stressing coz i still havent finished it....=( but yeah....

THERE IS ONE MORE DAY OF SCHOOL LEFT!!! (for me at least)

back to philosophy for me....

Monday, 9th December, 2002

Philosophy sucks so much. susan wolf is so boring and so contradictory, and my essay has not started yet! I'm gonna die so much...meanwhile, i woke up this morning with sand all over my bed, from my atrocious, sandy hair....

Sunday, 8th December, 2002

Oh my gosh, the waves at Manly Beach were really bad.... well at least I thought so. Like ten million waves crashed on me....and everytime i was just about to get out of the white water, another wave crashed on me.... it was like one step forwards, and two steps back. Other than that, I think we had a good time. We had these really gigantic ice creams from copenhagen, and sarah and i had ice cream dripping onto our hands going everywhere. somehow, miranda and edith managed to eat neatly.

We never actually dug deep enough to find water on the beach... but the hole was big enough to stick edith's head in there, hahaha.... i wonder if it is possible to dig a hole and find water...when we were going home, this guy tried to pick miranda up, hahahah it was so hilarious, she gave him a fake name and everything! so many people talked to us today: two guys on the ferry, some guys on the beach and then this guy who liked miranda..... what a good day!

Saturday, 7th December, 2002
Yesterday Miranda and I went to the cricket at the SCG. Sayo was originally supposed to come with us, but she had to go to a funeral. Bad Luck, because she missed out on a fantastic match. The game was England vs New South Wales, and of course New South Wales won. Michael Slater batted fantastically, scoring 115 runs, hitting a six just one bay away from where we were sitting. Corey Richards was a boring opening batsman, and I was so relieved that he finally got out, and Bevan replaced him. Bevan did well to score 54 not out. The end of the match saw Steve Waugh to finish what Slater left off. He hit two gigantic sixes in a row, one to the member's stand, and the other to the Noble Stand. To win the match in the next over, he hit another big six, capping off a great night. After this, I even managed to stop complaining about my disappointment of missing Glenn McGrath bowling, because Miranda and I arrived late. Too bad... I wanted to see how far he walked back, in comparison to Brett Lee, who walks miles, until he starts to bowl.

Today, I was at USYD for the final Mind and Morality class. It was so boring I almost fell asleep. (no exaggeration, i couldn't sleep last night after counting how many lights were out at the SCG). The second half of the class was slightly more amusing, where we had to discuss our essay plans. After deciding to be a little original, I picked an essay that no one else was doing, and so did Andrew and Blair, so we sat in our little reject group discussing nothing about our essays because they were all totally different. I'm going to discuss moral sainthood, while Andrew's question was on why one should be good, and Blair was doing a journal on a moral dispute???? Couldn't get anymore different. So Andrew entertained us with some strange laughs....hahahaha.... he is so gay....

Manly Beach tomorrow... cant wait!
